I. Foundation and developmentThe company was founded in 1994 with the name Sea Star Co.,Ltd. In 1997, the company changed its name to Vico Co.,Ltd. 15 years after foundation, Vico has developed from a small company to one of the leading detergent manufacturer in Vietnam with annual growth of 25 percent and many famous brands such as VIDAN, VF. In 2007, the turnover of the company was 20 mil dollar. Turnover increased to 30 mil dollar in 2008, 40 mil dollar in 2009 and estimated to reach 50 mil dollar in 2010- All the shareholders are the leaders and staff of the company- Currently Vico has 2 plants+ Vico detergent plant+ Vilaco plant: produccing detergent powder, cosmetics and cleaning liquidBesides, Vico is now investing in 4 following companies- Hai Phong Paint Joint Stock Company- Sivico Joint Stock Company- Apachem Real Estate Joint Stock Company- VLC Pack Joint Stock CompanyII. Vision2009 to 2013 period: Domestic market: is Vico target market. Vico has sales network nationwide, accounting for 12 percent market share and turnover of VND 700 bil per year- A target set for 2013 is to cover 20 to 25 percent of market share and turnover of VND 2,000 bil with sales network including 120 distributors, 2,000 salesmen, 120 supervisors and 16 area managers. (Vico has current network including 95 distributors, 950 sales men, 80 supervisors, 3 area managers and 15 group managers)Export:+ Vico has export markets includeing Middle East, Mongolia, Taiwan, Cambodia, North Korea, Japan and Cuba. Also, Vico is also exporting detergent powder to some South East Asia Contries+ Vico intends to expand export makets, especially 5 provinces at the border between Viet Nam and ChinaIII. Production capacityDetergent powder: 2 towers with the total capacity of 75,000 MT per year- Tower at VICO : 25,000 MT per year- Tower at VILACO : 50,000 MT per year : 75,000 MT per year Cosmetics and cleaning liquid- Current capacity: 20,000 MT per year- Plan to build 1 more workshop in 2010 with capacity of 20,000 MT per year- Current products: detergent powder, dish washing liquid, detergent paste, fabric softener, floor cleaning liquid, toilet cleaning liquid, shampoo, shower gel, beauty soap and hand wash- Some future products: perfume, perfume powder, skin care cream, toothpaste and deodorant.V. Quality assurance system- 2002: applied ISO 9001: 2000- 2007: started building quality assurance system following PnG standard- 2008: Quality assurance capability was 58 percent- 2009: Quality assurance capability was 86 percent. Also, ISO 9001: 2008 was applied- Currently Vico is preparing to apply ISO 14000 and combine ISO 9001 and quality assurance system following PnG into 1 system to apply at the companyVI. Awards2005: Vico was awarded the Third Ranking Labour Medal by the State2006: VI DAN was in the list of Top 500 well-known brands in Viet Nam a survey done by Nielsen (a market survey company) 2007: VI DAN brand was in the list of Top 500 famous brands in Viet Nam a survey done by ICHI Communication Corp (Janpan)2008: VICO, VI DAN was awarded Gold Star Award and listed in the list of Top 200 best brands of Viet Nam. VI DAN was in the list of Top 500 well-known brands in Viet Nam a survey on well-known brands in Viet Nam done by Nielsen for the second time. Vico was one of the five enterprises having the honor to receive emulation flag from the City s committee2009: for the second time VICO, VIDAN was awarded Gold Star Award and listed in the List of Top 200 best brand of Viet Nam2010: Top 200 best brand of VNUp till now, VICO was awarded more than 60 Golden Medals, 40 Golden Cups and always in the Top ten list in international and domestic affairs.
